Responsive Readings Part 2 [Let the Amen!]

The other day ago I wrote about a Sunday at Fifty6 where a responsive reading created a cadence for our community to hold together.  And last Sunday we did it again.  The “weight of repetition” once again created a unique and sacred space where the words and prayers on our lips gathered together in one anthem. And yes, this is with fifth and sixth graders. Because while preteens still need you, they don’t need you to hold their hand the same way they once did.  They’re growing up, they’re owning their life and faith and all that comes with it.  They need you to let go of the bike.
